The Cat Network Mission Statement

The Cat Network, Inc. (CN) is a 501(c)3, Florida not-for-profit corporation dedicated to humanely reducing cat overpopulation by educating the public about the need to sterilize their pets and strays; providing access to low-cost spay/neuter services for stray, homeless and abandoned cats; helping members in their efforts to place adoptable cats in loving homes;
and advocating non-lethal population control and humane public policy.

Information if you need to find a home for a cat(s) or kitten (s):
*
WE DO NOT HAVE A SHELTER: We cannot "pick up" cats/kittens. You must foster the cat
  yourself until adopted.
*
YOU MUST BE A MEMBER: Membership dues are $25 annually.
*
CAT MUST BE TESTED FOR FELINE LEUKEMIA AND FELINE IMMUNODEFICIENCY VIRUS
*
CAT MUST BE FREE OF FLEAS, WORMS, MANGE, EARMITES AND IN GENERAL GOOD
  HEALTH

*
CAT MUST BE SPAYED OR NEUTERED BY 4 MONTHS: We have a low cost spay neuter
  program for members.
*
CAT MUST BE VACCINATED: Vaccines required dependent on age of cat.

The Cat Network, Inc. will list your cat on our adoption line which is advertised in the Miami Herald, New Times and Sun Sentinel. You will be eligible to show your cat at our cat shows, based on cage availability. The Cat Network, Inc. screens potential adopters, and refers them to you if your cat/kitten matches the adopter's desired description. You deliver the cat to the new home, adoption contract is signed, and an adoption fee of $55 is collected. If the kitten is under 3 mos. and not spayed or neutered a $50 deposit in the form of a check must be collected and returned when proof of sterilization is provided. Further details will be provided to you when your membership and ad fee is received.

IF YOU CANNOT OR WILL NOT DO THE ABOVE, HERE ARE OTHER OPTIONS:
Place your own ad in the newspaper. "FOUND" ads are free for 5 days in the Herald. DO NOT write "free to good home" or give away - this could invite unscrupulous people to use your cat for laboratory testing, as food for reptiles, or some other hideous fate! Make sure the cat is going to a good home - ask questions! Put up posters or signs with photo and a cute story at supermarkets, veterinary clinics, church or your work. Show your cats or kittens yourself outside of supermarkets, pet stores, book stores, or other public gathering places (ask permission first).

*ANIMAL CARE AND CONTROL
THE HUMANE SOCIETY OF GREATER MIAMI IS A LIMITED ADMIT FACILITY THAT GUARANTEES A SECOND CHANCE TO ALL THE ANIMALS IN ITS STEWARDSHIP.  CATS AND DOGS ARE ADMITTED BASED ON AVAILABLE SPACE, HEALTH AND TEMPERAMENT.  THE SOCIETY WILL ONLY EUTHANIZE IF A PET IS SUFFERING AND BEYOND REHABILITATION.
